davidhoffman:

Identity will be one of the defining themes in the next five years of the Web. Nearly every site has a concept of a user account, registration, and identity. Searching for “sign in” on Google yields over 1.8 billion hits. And yet, the browser does nothing to make this experience better save for some basic auto form filling.

This is important to think about for anyone that makes things on the internet. About 10 days ago I started making a list of all the sites I log into. I’ve logged 47 sites. I access the majority of these sites with a username and password. This is not optimal, and I look forward to the future where the concept of identity is made stronger, where the user owns their identity, and where we can create new things based on this strengthened sense of who is who.

This also raises huge issues of online privacy… ie. much of the concern over services like facebook connect.  Traditionally identity does not fallow you around on the web and a lot of folks like it this way.  It will be a hard balance to strike between personal convenience and privacy

Reasons to see the film "Outlander" as culled from its Wikipedia entry

emmyblotnick:

  • Stars Jim Caviezel (Jesus from Passion of the Christ)
  • Here’s a loose plot summary: A space craft from the future crashes in Norway in the time of the Vikings.
  • Caviezel then helps the Vikings fight a bloodthirsty alien.
  • The Vikings have British accents, even though it’s clearly established this all takes place in Norway.
  • Cost $47 MILLION to make — and made $59,581 in its opening weekend.
  • Hahaha, sorry, still laughing at that last bullet point.
  • And because first you must go through the disambiguation page that asks you, “Do you mean the Mitsubishi Outlander?” and you’re tempted to say yes. Vikings and aliens and Jim Caviezel. Come on.

This movie was soooooo entertaining though.  the shield scene was priceless.  and ron perlman crushes a dude’s head with two hammers

New Wale track off Attention Deficit called “Bittersweet,” released just a few short minutes ago on his twitter.  Really looking forward to the album on November 3rd, both leaks have sounded great and Wale says he expects to have 45-55k sold in his first week.  Would stream it but its a wav. file and therefore would take an hour to upload.  Enjoy.

Waldo and his friends are visiting Chicago, come and find them. On September 12 a full scale Waldo hunt is going on downtown from 4pm-6pm. You can find Waldo, Wanda, Wizard Whitebeard, Woof, & Odlaw as well as a bunch of scrolls throughout the city. The boundaries are Wacker, Wabash, Congress, & Lake Michigan. Good Luck.
There’s a Facebook group if you want to RSVP

This looks amazing!

“Across the World” - Pitbull ft. B.o.B

Might as well call this one a Bobby Ray track. Easy listening, but also good for a running mix or chill playlist. I’m not typically a fan of Pitbull, but he caught my attention on this one.

Download here.

I won’t lie i really dig this
